Latham & Watkins and Credit Suisse recently co-hosted the third annual Midwest Cross-border M&A Conference in Latham’s Chicago office. The conference featured a distinguished group of business leaders – including C-suite executives, company board members, and corporate M&A professionals – who came together to discuss the various business, legal, political, and commercial aspects of cross-border deal-making in today’s dynamic M&A environment.

Discussions throughout the day centered around several critical factors impacting cross-border transactions, including Brexit, world trade, and globalization, as well as opportunities and challenges in a successful M&A strategy.

The video below highlights some of the key topics covered at the conference, including the impact of globalization on cross-border deals, the prevalence of shareholder activism in M&A, and the concept of a “hunting license” for M&A.
