Latham & Watkins Advises Tagomi in Acquisition by Coinbase

A Bay Area team advises the leading crypto brokerage platform in the transaction.

Coinbase, one of the largest digital currency exchanges, has announced that it plans to acquire Tagomi, a leading crypto brokerage platform, which will bolster offerings for advanced traders and the most sophisticated crypto investors. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.

Latham & Watkins LLP represents Tagomi in the transaction with a corporate deal team led by partners Mark Bekheit, Benjamin Potter, and Miles Jennings, with associates Matthew Bedrossian and David Chen. Advice was also provided on tax matters by partner Grace Lee, with associate Jessica Chen; on benefits and compensation matters by partner Ashley Wagner, with associate Brianna Stellpflug; and on technology transaction matters by partner Anthony Klein, with associate Morgan Brubaker. The entire team is based in the Bay Area with the exception of Morgan Brubaker who is based in Washington, D.C.
