Latham & Watkins Advises Canva in its US$60 million Funding Round

A California-based team advised the graphic design company on the funding.

Canva, an Australian-based graphic design platform, announced the initial close of US$60 million in its latest funding round. The company’s total valuation in this round has increased to US$6 billion.

Latham & Watkins LLP represented Canva in the transaction with a corporate deal team led by Bay Area partner Benjamin Potter with Bay Area associate Michael Podolny and Century City associate Arman Carretta. Advice was also provided on tax matters by Bay Area partner Kirt Switzer, with associate Jessica Chen; on benefits and compensation matters by Bay Area partner Ashley Wagner; CFIUS matters by Washington, D.C. partner Steven Croley; and on antitrust matters by Bay Area partner Joshua Holian and Washington, D.C. counsel Patrick English.
