Brussels

Latham’s Brussels office serves as the hub of the firm’s highly regarded European antitrust and competition practice as well as our State aid and European regulatory practice.

Office Overview

Our multilingual team hails from across the European Union so is well suited to handle cross-border matters. We routinely represent clients before the European Commission, EU courts, as well as EU Member State authorities and courts on a full spectrum of antitrust and competition issues, coordinating closely with colleagues across our global offices.

Giving Back

Latham is committed to giving back in each of the communities where we live and work. In Brussels, our ongoing pro bono causes include education, environment, fair housing and tenants’ rights, as well as animal welfare.

Pro Bono & Public Service

The Brussels office is deeply committed to pro bono services and community involvement and works with the following organizations:

  • ADIE International
  • Art in All of Us
  • Madre
  • Save the Children

In 2011, Latham’s work with the French microfinance organization, ADIE International, was recognized with the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s TrustLaw Impact Award.

Survey of Pro Bono Practices and Opportunities

A multi-office team of Latham & Watkins lawyers and professional staff from across the firm’s offices globally conducted extensive research to prepare the 2016 edition of the “Survey of Pro Bono Practices and Opportunities” report. Conducted in conjunction with the Pro Bono Institute (PBI), the unique report is an essential resource for local practitioners, in-house teams and non-profits on pro bono practices around the world.

Clients praise the firm’s “really well integrated” EU and US teams and “strong bench of lawyers with agency expertise both in the EC and in the regulatory authorities in individual EU member states.”
